Cupcakes for a Cause

I have been so blessed in my life! I have been blessed this last month to be able to participate in some fun shows to promote my "new" business and have been able to meet many new people and add some new clients to the Ice This client family! I have also been blessed beyond this business in my life with people who have come in and out that have made a great impact on me. I am sure each of you reading can same the same.
This month is breast cancer month (For those of you who have been under a rock!) and in honor of this month I will be honoring a dear friend who left a huge footprint on my life and a dear family member by launching two new pink flavors including the "Arete" cupcake and the Pink Velvet.
Ms. Lisa Kee is the first of those I will be honoring this month. Her motto "Arete" meaning to "be the best you can be" was exemplified in her life from the moment I met her until the moment she passed from this earth. She and her husband were best friends of my parents my whole life and I remember taking extremely long road trips from South Texas to Tennessee to visit this family. I loved making the turn onto Keelange Road because I knew that there were some great memories that would be had shortly.  I was so blessed to be able to sit in her giant kitchen and spill my beans to her, she seemed to bring out the beans in everyone. She was the only older woman I knew who could stay up to the wee hours of the night and not require a nap the next day. She loved life, she loved her family, she loved God and these things were so evident to all around her. As my dad said at her service "I will look forward to seeing her again and I hope to have my house next door to her in heaven". Ms. Kee went on to be with our maker in February 2006.
This month I also want to honor my dear Aunt Reci! Reci my mom's youngest sister. She is the life of the party at any family gatherings. She was diagnosed with Breast Cancer when I was in high school and was able to fight it head on and come out a winner! She has amazing strength and has an awesome throng of earthly angels who have been through this battle with her from the beginning. I know she has many dear friends who are still fighting. I am so thankful she came through this journey and made it to the other side! We are all so blessed by her and I am glad to have her in my life!
So, I ask that you please join me by purchasing some cupcakes for a cause. The "Arete" cupcake, which is a pink champagne kissed cake with strawberry buttercream and the Pink Lemonade which is a fluffly pink tart batter topped with creamy raspberry buttercream, will be on sale this month for $3.00 each with a dollar of each cupcake sale going to the Susan G. Komen foundation in memory of Ms. Lisa Kee. This will be my first official donation to the foundation from my business and I ask that you please help me make it a good one!!There is a minmum 1dozen cupcakes per order.
Please remember to pray for those who are still fighting, thanking our creator for those he has helped make it through this battle, and for those who have won this fight and are dancing on the other side! And, please help me with the achievement of arete this month at Ice This!

An unbelievable achiever in every way - inside out! She has God given gifts that come out in such beautiful ways! The cupcakes are just a drop in the bucket of Brooke's talent! The fact that she honors others in such beautiful ways with food in many ways is amazing to everyone who can taste the food is as good as it can get! Her dream is to open a restaurant someday and if someone wanted to back a winner, Brooke is it! These beautiful expressions of love of others is amazing! Thanks Brooke for all you do while caring for a two year old and five year old! Keep up the amazing work!
